Helping dancers keep loving it.
Feel more confident, less anxious,
and enjoy dancing again.
Being a dancer can be filled with confusion and doubt, leaving you feeling as if the rest of the class has a secret guidebook that you didn't get.
You’re doing everything you’re supposed to. You’re taking class, working hard, and applying corrections, but you can’t seem to stop doubting yourself. And comparison is killing your love for dance.
You wonder if you're "behind."
Some days you feel confident and like a beautiful dancer.
Other days, one correction, a bad class, a less than perfect performance, a disappointing casting sheet, or another dancer trying to psyche you out leaves you in a puddle of tears as you question everything.
And no one teaches you how to handle that.
But what if you didn't have to figure it all out alone?
The truth is that dancers don’t struggle because they aren’t working hard enough or don’t love it enough.
They struggle because they’ve never been taught how to deal with the mental side of being a dancer.
You’ve probably been told (or at least absorbed the idea through osmosis) that being a dancer has to be a struggle.
Maybe it’s even left you feeling like you have to be at least somewhat miserable to become the best you can be.
But that’s simply not true.
When dancers learn how to handle the doubt, comparison, and inevitable ups and downs, everything changes.
They feel more confident.
They bounce back faster.
They stop spiraling over every mistake and stumble.
And they start to actually enjoy dancing again.
The truth is that you don’t need to be perfect or the “best in the room” to succeed.
What you need is the right tools to handle nerves, setbacks, and comparison so you can feel confident, enjoy dance again, and keep growing without burnout.
Dance parents,
You’ve seen the passion your dancer has but lately it hasn’t always looked like joy.
Being there for your dancer can feel like a balancing act between supporting them and adding more pressure and overwhelm.
They want to be the best dancer they can be, but you also want them to be happy, healthy, and whole.
That’s where I come in.
Heyo, I'm Claire Hutchinson, an Alabama Ballet company dancer, dance instructor, and mentor for pre-professional dancers, students, and pros starting their careers.
Before becoming a pro ballet dancer, I spent years as a student struggling with stress, comparison, and self-doubt.
I know as well as anyone that not knowing how to navigate the dance world can take the joy out of dancing which is why I’m now so passionate about guiding dancers.
I want to help you navigate and understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of a being a dancer while taking care of yourself not just as a dancer, but as a human too.
This is for you if you...
love dance more than anything, but feel stuck in comparison, stress, or “not good enough” thoughts
pre-performance anxiety leaves you feeling like you never want to dance again
dance class is no longer feeling like your happy place
want to feel more confident and actually enjoy dancing again.
Inside this space, dancers learn to...
build real self-confidence (even on the hard days)
handle comparison without spiraling
bounce back from mistakes and setbacks
handle performance and audition nerves like a pro
stop perfectionism and overthinking
feel calmer, more in control, and more like themselves.
